XIII BIENNIAL OF PHOTOGRAPHY

I. REQUIREMENTS

1. Aliens must verify their residence in the country for at least two years prior to the publication of this announcement.
2. Submit Registration Form XIII Biennial Photography Competition, with all information requested.

5. PDF formats will be supplied printed with black ink. Also be delivered in digital form, as specified in item IV. REGISTRATION AND DELIVERY OF MATERIAL of this call.

II. RESTRICTIONS

7. May not participate middle and upper bodies of the National Council for Culture and the Arts, and employees assigned to CI.
8. May not participate in the first degree relatives of members of the jury.
9. Registration is possible only by author.

III. EVALUATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE

10. The selection process will be conducted in two stages.
11. It will appoint a three-member jury of photographers, researchers, critics and / or promoters, whose names will be announced with the publication of results. This jury will be complemented by the participation of a representative of the IC, who may speak in the discussions, but not to vote.
12. Photographic printing techniques, as well as the subject and the number of work left to the participant's choice, provided they do not exceed 3 meters per side as a maximum, not weighing over 50 kilograms. It is not necessary that the parts have the maximum dimensions.
13. The author's involvement must maintain thematic unity and its technical and conceptual treatment.
14. The work delivered only be accepted as unchangeable, and will be evaluated.
15. The work must have been made between 2006 and 2007.
16. The judges decision is final.

IV. REGISTRATION AND DELIVERY OF MATERIAL

17. The participants gave their material as follows:
17.1 A CD with PDF files containing the Registration Form, Curriculum Vitae and the Form of delivery of digital images, previously completed.
17.2 A CD with digital images. We do not accept 3 ½ disk, zip, or mailing address.
The CDs must be identified with a marker on the disc (no label) with the name of the participant. The CD should contain two folders of images:
a) Registration images. A record folder with the images scanned at 72 dpi, in JPG format. The longest side should not exceed 30 cm., Nor weigh more than 4 megabytes (MB) per image. We do not accept PowerPoint presentations, Flash, Director, Web pages, Acrobat, and so on.
b) High resolution images. Should be selected, this folder will be used to catalog and print media. These images should be scanned at 300 dpi, in TIFF (uncompressed). The longest side should measure 30 cm. In this folder compressed images are not accepted, either in JPG format. We do not accept PowerPoint presentations, Flash, Director, Web pages, Acrobat, and so on.
c) Delivery of records without information or files which can not be opened, are not considered material delivered and not allow its replacement, or change after the deadline.
d) Send only files in RGB or greyscale at 8 bits, no lock. Any image that does not conform to these guidelines, or any other file with termination for other applications will be disqualified immediately.
e) It shall include fingerprints of each image in letter size, to correct the work of printing, should be published. These test prints should coincide completely with the work to be submitted to the contest.
18. Those interested should send the IC material as requested in the previous section, along with the registration form of the Thirteenth Biennial of Photography, the curriculum vitae and the Form of delivery of digital images, printed as specified in section 5 of this call.
19. In the case of audiovisual or multimedia projects also must attach the technical script. This information must be included in the CD containing the images.
20. In the case of three-dimensional pieces must also be delivered or image plane, indicating that the sheet is a three-dimensional piece, with their size and weight. This information must be included in the CD containing the images.
21. In the case of facilities or projects that require electronic equipment for presentation (DVD player, video projectors, televisions, computers or any specific equipment), participants shall provide such equipment and secure the loan of them for display on the IC. These facilities and projects are not integrated into the traveling exhibition.
22. In the case of facilities or projects that require special materials for the assembly of its work, the author shall be provided as well as an explanatory sketch for the same purpose. Either way, it is mandatory to send all images contained in the project on the CD.
23. The reception of the material will remain open after the date of issue of this announcement and ending on Friday August 29 2008 at 15:00 hrs. There will be no extension.
24. In the case of material sent by mail (postal) or courier will be used as the delivery date of postmark or ballot issue.
After 10 days of completion of the closing of this call does not receive any material that comes through these pathways.
25. Do not return any material received at this stage of registration. Originals are not acceptable.
26. Upon receipt of the materials will not be allowed any changes.

V. DELIVERY OF FINAL WORK OF SELECTED AUTHORS

27. El Centro de la Imagen notified from 26 September 2008 to the selected participants, which will be agreed with the delivery of final work.
28. The receipt of final work will end on Monday, November 28, 2008 at 15:00 hrs. There will be no extension, nor accept any partial delivery.
29. For the final sample will not work that does not comply with the conditions proposed by the author at the time of registration.
30. The production and final assembly of the work borne by the author. Also the transfer of it to the CI.
31. The large format book must be resolved according to their support, which must be appropriate for the presentation, packaging and shipment, and that the IC will not be responsible for damage to the work that does not comply with these characteristics.
32. If the jury determines that the formal resolution of the play, does not satisfy the initial proposal can not accept it for the final sample.
33. The jury will also award two prizes from the final piece.

VI. EXPOSURE

34. The selected works will be integrated into an exhibition presented at the Centro de la Imagen, on 19 February to 17 May 2009 to then be displayed in the various headquarters of the Thirteenth Biennial of Photography, roaming for two years.
35. The curating of the exhibition will be given by specialists in each site, depending on the specific spaces and facilities available.
36. The assurance of the work on display and roaming will be managed by the IC and the receptor sites. Determine the value of the work based on the physical replacement of the same and not from its market value, providing that if there is any damage, will recover the piece to continue in the sample.
For polyptychs or joint replacement unit is damaged and in no case be reset all the work.
37. The authors selected are committed to the loan of his work for two years.
38. The return of the works will take place from October 2010, at the headquarters of the Centro de la Imagen. The authors residing outside Mexico City and who wish to receive your work by parcel, shall afford the service.
39. Participants will have 90 calendar days to collect his work. After that period the work will be destroyed.
40. The authors selected for awards will accept your work to be published in any media for dissemination purposes only the XIII Biennial of Photography.
41. Each of the selected sign a contract authorizing the IC managing their work and a document authorizing the roaming of the same, for which he will deliver, along with his final work, photocopies of the following documents: Identification official Federal Register of Taxpayers and proof of residence. If the author does not provide this documentation his work can not be displayed.
42. The artists must agree to the terms for the type of assurance of the work, issued by the National Council for Culture and Arts / CONACULTA
43. AWARDS The notice to publicize the winners will be issued in December 2008.
The selected list will be announced on page IK: http://centrodelaimagen.conaculta.gob.mx and in two national newspapers.
44. AWARD The Jury will award two prizes whose amount will be $ 75,000 pesos MN each.
45. The winning artists will receive financial support granted by the International Photography Festival FOTOFEST, in order to participate in the Meeting Place of FOTOFEST 2010. As part of that support, will be exempted from paying entry fee in the event and will have covered living expenses in Houston, USA for the same.
46. The winning work will become part of the collection of the IC.
47. PRIZES Prizes will be delivered in the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Should be awarded an author residing in the states, the CI will cover up to $ 15,000.00 pesos MN cost of their travel and accommodation in Mexico City according to the services contract The National Council for Culture and the Arts for these purposes.
48. Mention the number of honorable mentions to be considered by the jury.
49. AUDIENCE AWARD This award is a silver medal with the emblem of the INBA, the author whose work has received the most votes by visitors to the exhibition in IQ. Visitors will have a right to a vote during the exhibition period. This recognition will be awarded at a special event.
50. RECORD record shall be granted to the selected authors.
51. Catalog was published a catalog of the exhibition and a copy thereof shall be delivered to each of the selected artists.

Any circumstances not covered by this notice will be resolved by the Centro de la Imagen.
