Mexican reward in the World Press Photo
The Mexican Daniel Aguilar, the Reuters news agency, took the third prize in the individual category of General News for a picture on the conflict in the APPO in Oaxaca.
The award to the picture of the Year with Spencer Platt won the U.S., thanks to a snapshot on the damage that the war in Lebanon last summer resulted in Beirut.
The image of Platt, who works for the agency Getty Images, dating from last August 15, the first day of the ceasefire between Israel and the Hezbollah militia, and shows a young Lebanese strolling around in a red convertible in the ruins of the city .
The international jury selected from among the 78 images of 4 thousand 083 thousand 460 professionals who attended this edition of the most important of photojournalism awards that are granted each year in Amsterdam.
