Sunday morning in a road accident, died on photographer Alberto Contreras, director of the Photo Library of Veracruz Juan Malpica Mimendi.

Contreras where the truck was traveling along with others who were injured, was dragged by the train at the crossing of Bruno Pagliai Industrial City, in Jalapa, Veracruz highway.

Alberto Contreras, who was born in the port of Veracruz in 1975, extended a bachelor's degree in photography in Jalapa, and a diploma in the documentary at the International Center of Photography in New York, in addition to other studies in Mexico.

Performed various jobs and teaching courses related to photography in cities like Havana, New York, Merida, Jalapa and the port of Veracruz.

In January 2005 he was appointed director of the Fototeca Juan Malpica, which protects more than 5 thousand negative and positive, in addition to some 100-thousand images, convirténdose one of the youngest executives of public administration cultural Veracruz.

Contreras showed her documentary work in various solo shows, like last, in 2005, entitled The Witch, in the Alvarez Bravo Photographic Center in Oaxaca.

He participated in several group shows, such as the 2003 call 65 against Polyphemus glances at the University Museum of Poplar, in Mexico City, and others in Houston, Havana, New York, Madrid and Bogota.

His work was on the books anthology Matching and diversity and Light and color, both published by the Cultural Institute of Veracruz. It won awards and endorsements, as the first in the category Equality, the first of Photography Contest The Values of Democracy, the Federal Electoral Institute.

He published his work in newspapers and magazines such as Private, Italy, the cultural supplement primers, the Journal AZ, Jalapa; Photometro, San Francisco, California, and Cuartoscuro, of Mexico City.
