Will mount a show in Mexico City photographer Mauricio Ramos

The various sites that comprise the Riviera Maya in relation to their mythological beings, are registered by the Mexican photographer's lens and Mauricio Ramos will be exhibited at the exhibition "Unai Bonola," which will open tomorrow Wednesday at the Digital Gallery EPSON, in this city .

In an exclusive interview with Reuters, the artist specializing in documentary photography, explained that it was twelve photographs taken for this former teacher shows, which portrays a part of Mayan culture.

"The real world is a dimension where Mayan mingle physical reality and magical beliefs. Their culture and religion were based on the basic subsistence, with astronomical observations and natural phenomena, "said Ramos, with 14 years of experience in Mexico and abroad, where he has been widely recognized.

The sample, which may be accessed until April 24, is a selection of 24 images taken at different locations in this paradise in southeastern Mexico, where he stayed for ten days, the photographer reported, noting that to this collection, the gallery gave various shots of each image so that they could be observed from different angles.

As the first element is always the Sun, Kin, the source of light and color, origin of life, we visit the majestic father through the lightning, fire, and shows its true face in the eclipses and the moon that shines at night, explained in a press release issued by the gallery.

The Moon is the wife of legendary father Sol, Ikchel, goddess who dwells in the darkness and that sometimes leaves a day to contemplate his beloved. Astral dance that happens in the sky set the pace for the stations, the frequency of time, and even predicts the cycles of life and natural phenomena.

All life on the planet is governed by the romance between the Sun and Moon, this balance between light and darkness, this perfect relationship between man and woman.

The duality of existence emerge as children elements, the seasons, four directions, the four pillars that hold the world: water, earth, wind and fire.

Mauricio Ramos said that after staying in the gallery for a month, it is possible that the sample trip to the Riviera Maya because there is already contact with a company to finalize details of the shipment.

Among the projects that are in this door-winning photographer from "The Silver Lens" 2003 in the category Editorial; prize awarded by the Ministry of Tourism of the Federal Government to the best photograph published during the year, is preparing a paper on contemporary ethnicity in Mexico.

He indicated that one of its greatest interest has been the preservation of traditions in Mexico, as well as its ethnic groups which, unfortunately, with the passage of time have been influenced by other cultures.

"It's a lifestyle that goes into extinction," he explained, and this work has to be an opportunity to assess the ethnic groups that still prevail and guard their customs, but giving them to know the company, added Ramos, whose photographic archive is 65 thousand images, which range from landscapes to the registration of life and customs of different populations.

"It is a project-argued-very ambitious, because it is what I intend to portray those ethnic groups that have preserved their traditions alive and are therefore hard to access them. For visiting groups like the Huichol, for example, you need to have a special permit.
