Photographic exhibition opened by Manuel Alvarez Bravo
A total of 41 classic images, some of which had not been presented in nearly 30 years, and 10 portraits of Mexican painter Frida Khalo, will Agachados The exhibition of the photographer Manuel Alvarez Bravo.
In an interview, Colette Alvarez Urbajtel, widow of the photographer, said that the shows that will open next August 4 at the John Martin Gallery in this capital, which will be an exhibition of selected left a vast archive of the central figures of the art in the country.
The exhibition will present photographs that cover several decades, from 30 to 80 years, to remember who is considered "the poet of light."
Urbajtel Alvarez explained that the title of the exhibition is due to one of the great photos of Alvarez Bravo, who managed 30 years in a piece appearing in the five men, sitting back and eating in a fund called the duck.
He stressed that the pictures of 8 x 10, silver-gelatin, are 10 photographs of Frida Kahlo, who in times of Alvarez Bravo were new and are part of the series with Frida globe.
It also said it will also present some of the muralist Diego Rivera.
The Agachados, the girl watching birds, the Dreamer, the mattress, the Dream, Crown of Palms, black mirror, among others, the images will be displayed and that they represent a cutting edge and imaginative.

Moreover, Colette Alvarez Urbajtel, who is a founder of the Hall of Plástica Mexicana where he exhibited his work several times, said he will present again in this space next September 13.
Originally from Paris, said it will present a small retrospective of 32 images, some of them portraits of family, home and images of sites in the neighborhood of Coyoacan and even some of their business trips by Guinea, China and Japan.
The artist who resides in Mexico since 1962 and who first exhibited in 1975 in Jose Clemente Orozco Gallery said it's working on the project "will be an exhibition but funny girl," he added.
With 73 years of age, Urbajtel Alvarez said that while not a panorama of Mexican photography, said today that it has several new features, "there are many things to do," he said.
