Inaugurate photographic exhibition in tribute to the children of Mexico

Coordinated by the United Nations Fund for Children (UNICEF) in Mexico and Secretary of local culture, the sample of 120 images taken by photographers Mauricio Ramos, Rosendo Garcia and Sebastian Beláustegui Quintos, will be in the open-air gallery The Grates Chapultepec, until Aug. 17.
The aim of this exhibition has been portraying the diverse socio-economic, cultural and geographical situation of children and adolescents throughout the Mexican Republic, as well as recognizing the right that they all have, without exception, equality and non-discrimination .
The photographer Sebastian Beláustegui told Notimex that needed 10 days to make the shots to adolescents, seven days in Jalisco to do with respect to urban, coastal and rural, and three more days in the Federal District.
The artist of the lens, who made 45 of the 120 photographs exposed, he added that it was a very intense, but "is proud to be collaborating with UNICEF and with children and interact with adolescents and their needs, their domestic game and respecting their cultural diversity as a society. "
What is most striking, he said, was the purity, the look, innocence and naivete of children, who could capture during the experience, in which he lived many anecdotes with them.
Artists from the toured lens 20 of the 32 states of Mexico with camera in hand to capture the diversity in Mexico, portraits compared to the same white screen.
By making use of the word, the secretary of Culture, Elena Cepeda, said that in this beautiful exhibition sponsored by UNICEF, which shows the faces and experiences of children from Mexico, highlighted the plurality and diversity of cultures that coexist in this country, with the idea of promoting equality and equity among all the inhabitants of Mexico.

Last year saw the first edition of this exhibition at the International Airport of Mexico City, but now sought a better space that could be seen by more people.
In Mexico, UNICEF has over 50 years promoting and protecting children's rights and seeks to establish jointly with government and civil society, the necessary conditions for overcoming poverty, inequality and discrimination.
At the opening ceremony were present: Elena Cepeda, secretary of Culture of the Government of the Federal District; Susana Sottoli, representative of UNICEF in Mexico, César Costa, Ambassador of UNICEF in Mexico, and Carlos Ortega, director of communications for Nextel, among others.
