Inaugurated photo exhibition on the Passion in Iztapalapa
Images that reflect the feelings, dreams and imagination of those who live this traditional displays of faith up the photo exhibition "Passion in Iztapalapa," which contains works by artists of the lens as Jorge Pablo de Aguinaco, Carlos Contreras and Ricardo Espinoza, and that was opened last night.

During the inauguration of the sample, Elena Cepeda de Leon, secretary of Culture of the Government of the Federal District, commented that the staging that began in 1843 as a token of appreciation for the religious term of a cholera epidemic, is now a major momentum to take over the streets and rebuild, with that, a public space.
"Because not only neighbors are the ones who give life to this tradition, over a year of preparation and a week's personification of Jesus, Mary, Judas or Pontius Pilate, but are residents of the eight districts of Iztapalapa contributing to the realization of the representation, "he said.
Also part of this popular representation of the thousands of visitors who come to the streets in the neighborhoods of Asuncion, San Ignacio, Santa Barbara, San Lucas, San Pablo, San Miguel, San Pedro and San Jose, to rebuild a religious drama, but above all a public space, he said.
He stressed that the importance of the Representation of the Passion in Iztapalapa for the inhabitants of Mexico City is due to a combination of meanings that surrounds it: the religious, recovery of the past Nahuatl and the habits and customs of the eight districts .
