Photographic exhibition opens in Chile Mexican Francisco Mata

The Mexican Ambassador to Chile, Mario Leal, opened an exhibition in this capital of the Mexican photographer Francisco Mata, who under the name "Mexico-Tenochtitlan" evokes "the everyday and the mythical" referring to the North American country.

Opening the show in Havana's Centro Cultural Estación Mapocho Leal praised the work of Mata and that his photographic exhibition evokes, in addition, present and past, existing and the imaginary.

He argued that the photographs of Mata, "the presence of the Mexican leads to see who looks at his own reality and their own lives in a different way."

"At the Chilean people and the people has united Mexican culture for many years," added the Mexican diplomat, to launch an official sample of 53 photographs of Mata.

Leal also recalled that the place that welcomes the statement by the journalist and graphic artist received a 40-year even when operated as train station, the actor and performer Mexican Jorge Negrete, whose visit "revolutionize" the company capital.

The exhibition "Mexico-Tenochtitlan, which is open to the public until October 12, is part of various cultural activities organized in Chile by the celebration of the 198 anniversary of the Independence of Mexico.

At the opening ceremony of the sample, which was held yesterday at the Estación Mapocho, was Britain's ambassador to Chile, Howard Drake, and Culture and director of programming at the Cultural Center, Mary Grace Valdes.
