II Prize of digital photography-Foconorte Ayuntamiento de Santander (Spain)

The aim of the Prize II Digital Photo-Ayuntamiento de Santander Foconorte is to evaluate the ability, among photographers interested in capturing the most accurate balance between creativity and technical ability.

BASIS OF COMPETITION

Will be candidates for the Prize II Digital Photo-Ayuntamiento de Santander Foconorte all photographers professional or amateur, individual or group, who meet the following requirements:

The topic will be free, the participant should stick exclusively to respect the technical characteristics and identification exposed later.

The deadline for submission to the postal address shown at the end, will close on Saturday, December 15, 2007.

The material must go on a CD, whose cover is stuck in the coupon of participation that accompanies these bases. The contents of the CD consists of three folders. In a contest to be the photographs (from 15 to 30 photos, you need to bear in mind that not a single photograph is rewarded, but work continued and consistent). In another folder will be the identification of the author and another folder in a small curriculum and a short text explaining the intentions of work. To facilitate the shipment, you can also send e-mail: concursofoto@foconorte.net, following the procedure of three folders.

The jury will be composed of members of the City Council of Santander and Foconorte, in addition to prominent professionals and their decision is final.

The work of the jury will consist of two phases: first, view all the CD's received to conduct a first selection of photographs and where will the authors what is viewed during the celebration of Foconorte 07. In the second phase elect, from among the previous elections, the prize of the contest.

The award winner will receive 1800 euros and an exhibition to be held in the next edition of Foconorte. On the other side must give up all rights to one of the photographs on the CD in sponsoring the contest.

Authors are responsible for obtaining the consent of the people portrayed.

The organizers reserve the right to use the photographs selected exclusively to publicize the contest.

Organizers are not responsible for any damage, so we must be careful not to send originals or copies only. Always copies, which were not released any CD.

Participation in the competition implies acceptance of all these rules.

The organizers reserve the right, in case of serious events, to suspend the contest at any time without notice.

TECHNICAL STANDARDS

Since the exposure of the selected works will be done through screening of high-quality, it is imperative submitting them along the following standards:

The images must be integrated into a framework of 1024 x 1280 pixels, by a ratio of 4 / 5, which is the one that corresponds to the resolution of the projector.

The definition will be 72 dpi, and the weight of the image of not more than 5 MB.

The format should be uncompressed TIFF or JPEG compressed not top quality.

Archives: RGB for color photographs. Level of gray for black and white photographs.

The files should not be frozen.

Photographs must be scanned in any part without margins. The organizers will be responsible for putting them to homogenize the projection.
