HP Photosmart R707 cameras 680,000 collected by problems with the batteries

Users of this camera may be exposed to damage if the overload of the batteries lead to a fire of those, said a spokesman for the company.

In total some 680,000 cameras will be withdrawn after receiving complaints from users about this bug manufacturing.

Sales of the Photosmart R707 will be launched in August 2004 and about 224,000 units were sold in the U.S. and the rest outside this country.

This problem could be solved through a firmware update for the camera, which could be announced by HP. Besides that only affects the camera when using the battery charger with a single use, if used rechargeable batteries are not the problem.

08/06/06 update is now available the updated firmware that fixes this problem. So it is not necessary to carry the camera with a service center.
