Che's son shares the passion of the legendary guerrilla fighter in photography
Camilo Guevara, son of Ernesto Che Guevara, in Havana opened its first exhibition of photography, said that passion to share with the legendary Argentine-Cuban guerrilla fighter and he described as a form of poetry.
"Although I did not have the opportunity to give me tips on photography, there is always an indirect influence, especially for the work so interesting that Che was and is learning over time," said the son of the revolutionary.
His father was a street photographer in Mexico to survive, always carrying a camera his travels, as when very young toured parts of Latin America and the start of the revolution photographed in factories, sugar plantations, schools or political acts.
"Photography is essentially poetry. I'm not a poet, nor do I have that gift, and perhaps is a way to get to that, at least I try, "said Camilo, a lawyer by profession, for 46 years, during the inauguration of the exhibition.
Symbols and metaphors
Geroglifo The exhibition, which will remain open in the Spanish American Culture Center until June 21, includes 15 photographs, manipulated any technically mate in 8 × 10, divided into six series with titles such as Yellow Card, The Observer and bridge.
"It's a way to communicate through the exhibition. I am more interested in photography of symbols, metaphors. I try to look at not only what the eyes see, but go beyond, to find some answers, to enter a little story, is what I try, "says Camilo Guevara.
Selected from a wide range of over 40 images in the sample stand ensimismada a person through a glass, the look of a woman caught in a groove or silhouettes view from a trellis.
"The proposal is a virtual trip to ourselves. It is a conceptual work that goes more to the idea, to the phenomenon. It raises feelings, a photographic work is intense, "said curator Carlos Lamas.
It is "a person with an extraordinary sensitivity and this is a way of linking the viewer with their own world. In the future can surprise us with wonderful things. It has the precedent of a parent, an influence of Che, "said Lamas.
Camilo Guevara, who next week will attend the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the birth of the legendary guerrilla Rosario (Argentina), said the submission as "a game, a crazy thing to enjoy with friends and criticize.
"It has to do with the birth, but it would be a very personal dedication to it," he said.

I welcome the son of the great American revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara and idealistic today to reach the press so that he inherited his father's art. Hopefully, also inherits the love for the country of his father, who was not only of birth but lived most of his life. Many love it and many issues, but in the end it was a man of ethics. His final is moving, but we did great, we will forever, but who now plays for the convictions as Che?. All live at the expense of his name and his feats few imitate, cinema, paintings, sculptures, books and so not bad for tribute, but to make money at the expense of a hero who had been murdered and perhaps betrayed in the jungle. So what is a small step Camilo with the art of photography but at least it is not simply as "the son of ..." that should be honored but not to privilege but to raise the flag of love for others and humble as his father, and left for Argentina, and not look for the Europe that enjoyed strolling che not only brought pride and danger of his life until his convictions. We hope to Camilo in Argentina following the country and showing their own creativity while remaining proud of his father but that is for him. Good luck!
