Che Son shares the passion of the legendary guerrilla in photography

Camilo Guevara, son of Ernesto Che Guevara, in Havana opened its first exhibition of photography, a passion that concurred with the legendary Argentine-Cuban guerrilla, and called a form of "poetry".

"Although I was able to give me photography tips, there is always an indirect influence, especially by the work so interesting that had the Che is learning over time," said the son of a revolutionary.

His father was a street photographer in Mexico to survive, always in his travels had a camera, as when very young toured most of Latin America and the beginning of the revolution photographed in factories, sugarcane fields, schools or political events.

"Photography is essentially poetry. I'm not a poet, nor do I have that gift, and perhaps is a way to get to that, at least I try, "said Connor, a lawyer, 46, during the opening of the exhibition.

Symbols and metaphors

Exposure hieroglyphics, which remain open in the Hispanic American Cultural Center until June 21, includes 15 photographs, no technically manipulated in matte format 8 × 10, divided into six series with titles like Yellow Card, The Bridge and Observer.

"It'sa way to communicate through the exhibition. I'm interested in photography most of the symbols, metaphors. Try to look at not only what the eyes see, but go beyond, to find some answers, penetrate a little into the stories, is what I try, "said Camilo Guevara.

Selected from a range of over 40 images in the sample stand rapt someone through a glass, the look of a woman captured from a slot or silhouettes seen from a trellis.

"The proposal is a virtual trip inside. It's a conceptual work that goes to the idea, the phenomenon. It raises feelings, is a photographic work intensive, "explained curator Carlos Lamas.

It is "a person with extraordinary sensitivity and this is a way of linking the viewer with their own world. In the future can surprise us with wonderful things. To the precedent of his father, there is an influence of Che, "said Lamas.

Camilo Guevara, who will attend next week's 80th anniversary celebration of the birth of the legendary guerrilla in Rosario (Argentina) said to the exhibition as "a game, a crazy thing to enjoy with friends and to critique.

"It has to do with the birth, but would be a very personal dedication to him," forward.

I welcome the son of the great revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara idealistic today can reach the press for what he inherited his father's art. Hopefully it will also inherit the love for the country of his father, who was just born but where he lived most of his life. Many love him, many are questioning it, but finally it was a man of ethics. Its end is moving, that made it bigger, that will make eternal, but today "who is played by beliefs like Che?. All live at the expense of his name and his exploits just imitate, cinema, paintings, sculptures, books etc. to honor not bad, but to get money at the expense of a hero who was assassinated and perhaps betrayed in the jungle. So it is a small step Camilo with the art of photography but at least it will remain simply as "the son of ..." should be an honor but not privileges but to raise the banner of love for others and for humble like his father, and go to Argentina, and not look both for Europe that che did not enjoy walking, only worn with pride and even risking his life his convictions. We hope to Camilo in Argentina and traveling the country showing their own creativity while pride in their father but that is for him. Suerte!!

I always think like che said he would have to be many Cubas, or something, there should be many che, one in each corner of the planet, everything would be different. I would really like their children to come to Argentina, would be great for the Argentines masks are removed. We wait.
