Tuesday photoblog: From Route
This time we move toward the center of the country, in particular to Cuernavaca in the state of Morelos, where Altamar us From Route
How and when it started in photography?
I started with the photo exactly one year ago and 2 months, along with my first digital camera. I always wanted to learn, but I had never encouraged to buy a camera, and it was not ready to face the costs involved have an analog, so after much saving and decide, I bought a digital. The initial idea was to make sports photography, especially climbing, but took different paths.
What does the picture for you?
Uff ... For me it is a means of personal expression, is to share my way of seeing the world, it is (lately) my means of escape from reality (though I sometimes plunges more in reality, which is very good too). When I come home and I'm angry, I take my camera and I'm going to the center to take pictures, or I'm going to the central bus and a truck to take a little town, and there I let go.
What type of photography you like? (B & W, Color, Portrait, Macro,> Landscape, etc.). And Why?
As I commented, initially looked to sports photography, my trips to climbing and mountaineering, but little by little I left leaning by what I call urban photography. And now, what I enjoy most is to go out on the street, shooting people, sometimes without being aware, sometimes with his help. When taking these photos in the streets, the colors are very varied and very often can distract from the main reason, a good alternative is to take photos in black and white, then most of my photos are in black and white, but when the reason it screams, and change the colors around. I like this kind of photography, because apart from being "informal", is impressive amount of personalities that can capture, motives, situations ... every place, every day is different with photography urban, and also allows you to live with people . Never needed to ask who is close to taking these, because even you come to ask that they take a picture.
What equipment do you use for photography? (Team photo, accessories,> computer, software, etc.).
Team counting on a digital camera FujiFinepix S5100, which besides being small, has a lens equivalent to a 37-370mm of 2.8 to 3.1, than for urban photography is invaluable because you can bring a lot with the zoom without people to be considered. I have a trip that almost never sack, and one desktop computer with Linux, so I edit my pictures with the program "The Gimp." Ah, just a friend gave me his reflex camera that was his father, is an Olympus with 2 lenses, a 50mm to 135mm and a 1.8 to 2.8. But I must clarify that this reflex of the rookie and I'm very little I'm going on my third roll. Furthermore, at home, with 2 desk lamps and 2 funds (which are actually plastic tablecloths) I have done some testing of light and taken some photos of "study". This is used mainly to learn and experiment.
What led you to start a photoblog?
My photoblog began in a departure from the school. I was sent to Italy for 3 months, and then, was a kind of daily travel, with the idea of not having to tell the story of what made many times, and sent to my friends and family to see what we had written there. Upon returning, a few months later, I decided that if something published, was going to be a picture, with very little text or without him, and little by little it was turning into my photoblog.
When you start your photoblog?
In August last year. And if you come here, they can see how my style has evolved. I laugh because, at first he only took pictures of plants and stones, because they do not move, you can make compositions relatively easy, and so on. Suddenly I started to shoot in the routes of the trucks headed to school, and finally to go out on the street, until lately, I've done some tests on my "mini-studio-home."
From where comes the name of your photoblog?
The first name was my photoblog "I do not know for certain" based on the poem by Sabines, and that is that I am very lacking in imagination and I love that poem. And as was a personal blog, because he had no problem with that. Just like 2 weeks, I decided to give him a hand of cat and change the image, so now is called "From the map" and it is because many of my photos began there, and I continue taking photos there.
Where are located and what kind of system do you use for your publication photoblog?
I am on blogspot ( "http://gbvalle.blogspot.com").
Have you exhibited your photos off the Internet? Where?
If only there was an exhibition of photojournalists of the state of Morelos, and invited me to participate with 3 of my photographs, the exhibition is titled "The other side of photojournalism" and the truth is that I participated in casting. The photos that participated in this exhibition are:
- Mistrust, taken in the market Tlayacapan.
- Sad smile, taken in the main square in Cuernavaca
- Reflexes, taken on the route 11 due to school
For you photography is a hobby or do you spend in a professional manner?
It's a hobby, but the truth is that you spend a long time, which ranges from about 3 hours daily editing photos, to complete the weekend taking photos, ah, and that's not counting the time I spend watching browsing photos of other people.
Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Guillermo Barrios del Valle, got 27 years, I am estudiHambre de la UNAM. I am currently doing my Ph.D. in engineering at the Center for Research in Energy (pass me the whole day sitting in front of the computer). On the other hand, I love the sport, I am a lover of Fierro (the gym), rock climbing, mountain outings, bike and run. Photography is the newest of my hobbies (and I love it). On the other hand, I also enjoy reading and discussing. Currently we are organizing a group of informal talks on science and philosophy, is called "coffee awareness" and the idea is to facilitate dialogues on these issues in an informal way, in a coffee. I think this little description gives an idea of what I am. I want to take to give my most sincere congratulations to Royrak and Netwalker by this effort they are making, and it is an honor for me to have a space with you.
If there is a photoblog that I was interested that interviewed (and not just from Mexico), feel free to send us your suggestions to

Very good your blog. I also think that photography is a way to combat the world. I just start with that of digital photography. I spent the whole afternoon trying to download the photos I have in the digital camera into the computer, but there has been no way. I asked a software that I already installed. I hope you can help me.
