The effort of artists to win public acceptance, the feeling that pervades the end of each show and other details behind the racks are present in a circus Behind the smile, the series of photographic Iram Gomez set out from this Thursday November 30 at 8:00 at night in the area of La Escondida, in the Centro San Ignacio.

A course called Blog, dictated by Ricardo Jimenez, and the phrase "a smile unnecessary", made the visit a circus in search of an image; at the scene was captivated and continued frequented by approximately three weeks. Thus was born Behind the smile, a series of photographs taken by Iram Gomez in circuses The Three Elephants and The Valentino, during their presentations in Caracas.

"Behind the smile comes from the circus and its popular expressions. The images give an account of life during and after the show and everything that these artists are making to make us smile. " But Gomez's work goes beyond the surface and delve into the sensations and feelings of emptiness and, perhaps, that loneliness can experience each of these people, whose profession is to make others laugh.

Iram Gomez is Architect and museographers. In 2004 he decided to study at the School of Roberto Mata, because "I wanted to learn to shoot seriously." He has participated in collective and II Hall University Photography, Art Photography Award Venezuelan Goethe-Institut; III Climbing Festival. Photos and Videos of Adventure, I International Biennial of Photography and Visual Arts Hall IV DYCVENSA. Honorable Mention in the University Hall II Photography and Photography Award Municipal City Hall in Caracas Juan Lovera, are some of their awards.

La Escondida is a brand present in the Venezuelan market since 1966, a pioneer in the marketing of silver jewelry and decorative items craft and industry. This is the fourth time providing the space for a photo exhibition. Behind the smile will be open to the public from Thursday November 30 until the end of January 2007 in the shop of the Centro San Ignacio, Level Chaguaramos. Visiting hours are Monday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and Sunday 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM (during Christmas is the time to 10:00 PM).
