Broadcast in Baja California call for the VI Biennale Photo

With a bag of 85 billion pesos, the Cultural Institute of Baja California (ICBC) and the National Council for Culture and the Arts convocaronn to all Mexicans and foreign photographers with a minimum of three years' residence in the state, to participate in the Sixth Biennial Photography in Baja California and the Second Nature Landscape Photography Show.

The call states that each participant may submit, in the two proposals to contest a maximum of five original pieces using as a base photography: traditional or digital, in its variant black and white, color, alternative, as well as in the conceptual category or Traditional.

The distribution of the prizes is 30 pesos for each of the two categories of the Sixth Biennial Photography and a single prize of 25 thousand pesos for the Second Sample Photo Landscape, which will be very transferable. The results will be disseminated through the mainstream media of the entity.

In the two proposals to contest the technique of presentation of the photographs should be in photo-quality printing in a single format of up to 1.10 meters at most in any of its dimensions, ready for exposure and that their weight exceeds 50 kilograms .

At the Second Nature Landscape Photography Show, the theme will be on the various landscapes of the state, to highlight the compositions in particular characteristics of each area, such as the flora, fauna, natural sites symbolic, based on climates of the mountains, valleys, the desert or the beach.

The call is aimed at spreading the natural beauty of the state through photography; the Secretariat for Environmental Protection in 2009 published a book with the selected product.

Every work must be identified with the following data recorded on a card to the back of the piece: pseudonym, title, technical, process, place of residence, date and place-making, with no visible signs. Participants must attach a compact disc containing photographs of the works in jpg format with 300 dpi resolution.

In November, the jury will select the works to integrate the Sixth Biennial of Photography and the Second Sample Photo Landscape Selection 2008, successively made the exposure of the Sixth Biennial in the municipalities of the state, and it will be promoted in the hinterland and abroad.

The deadline for receipt of the works will be from 3 to November 8, 2008, from 8:00 to 16:00 pm in the administrative offices of ICBC and the municipalities of the entity.
