Alberto Diaz (1928-2001), author of the most famous and reproduced photo of guerrilla Ernesto "Che" Guevara, now reveals the breadth of his work in the exhibition "Korda. Known. The exhibition will be on display from mid-December at the Casa de America in Madrid, will visit various parts of Spain and other European countries, and is the result of a selection of the 437 images collected in the book of same title filed on September 1 in the Spanish capital, according to Diana Diaz told Efe.

"Everybody knows who is 'Korda' and when we started with the dream of making the book we consider first remove the stigma, myth, the weight that he is known for that image, it's a great image," said the daughter of the artist's lens.

The starting point of the discussion that follows the same order as the book is the decade of the fifties, when "Korda" set up his photographic studio in the heart of the Havana neighborhood of El Vedado, frequented by artists, politicians, intellectuals and models.

"We set ourselves the task of finding images, many in negative were held by the historical record of the State Council (Cuba), who has saved all the work my father since he underwent the study in 1968," said .

Then collect a series of snapshots taken from the triumph of the revolution in 1959, its leaders, Fidel Castro, Camilo Cienfuegos and Che Guevara to the big rallies, crowds of people and also children and women, favorite target of his lens over his career.

The last chapter of the exhibition is dedicated to underwater photography, which is dedicated "Korda" since 1969 at the Institute of Oceanology of the Academy of Sciences, and which according to Diaz, he found "a great artistic inspiration.

Alberto Diaz "Korda" began his advertising career as a photographer, but since 1959 is linked to the Cuban revolution and was devoted to document it in their frames.
