Contest "FotoTalentos 09" (Spain)

FOUNDATION BANCO SANTANDER, CIF G 80576200 and registered office in the Serrano street, number 92, Madrid, PO Box 28006, announces the second edition of FotoTalentos, a photo contest for university students, to encourage, recognize and reward disseminate creativity in the art of photography from the university community.
The competition will be governed by the following principles:
Participants
All members can participate in the university community (students, teachers and administrative staff), regardless of their nationality, residing in the countries of the network Universia. Shall be considered members of the university community where students, teachers and administration and service personnel on active duty in the 2008-2009 academic year.
In any event, excluded from participation in this contest employees Foundation Banco Santander.
Issue
Defined five thematic categories to which they may submit photos to the contest which are:
* Sustainability
* Education
* Cohabitation
* Equality
* Health
Requirements for participation
Admission works
* To participate you will need to be competitors or Universia users register via the web www.fototalentos.com. Will need to upload photos to the Web participants in digital format (jpg files), only allowing a maximum of 1 MB per picture.
* The photographs must be original and unpublished. No further photograph whose intellectual property rights do not belong in full and without exception to the contest participant.
* In the case of a selection of his works, the participant must provide the organization in such high-quality photo printing and reproduction, as set out in the next b) Technical requirements. If not meet this requirement, the organization may refuse to work. All the printing costs of the works shall be borne by the organization.
* Each contestant may submit a maximum of one photo per category, ie a maximum total of 5 works, and within each category, will have complete freedom of aesthetic trend.
* For the photographs that appear in the recognizable people, the organization reserves the right to request a letter signed by such persons, allowing the use of his image, the participant must submit if selected his work.
* The organizers reserve the right to exclude competition and exclude the photographs presented in the following cases:
* When the photographs are not adapted to the theme of the category for which they
* When the organization has a reasonable suspicion that they are using to increase by fraudulent or artificial the actual number of votes and / or points for each picture received from the public internet, through the selection procedure established by the Internet 4 below.
* When the photos do not meet minimum requirements of artistic quality, according to the organization.
* When the pictures might be in bad taste or offensive content, according to the organization.
Technical Requirements
The size of the works submitted must have sufficient quality to be reproduced and exhibited. To this end, the contestants whose works are selected in the first phase, the organization should send a CD with the photograph, which must meet the following requirements:
* A minimum quality of 100 dpi at a size of 110 cm at its largest side.
* Format. Jpg or. Tiff.
The organization, however, may reject a site if it believes it has been touched up or sent remuestreada with software to alter its quality, or does not meet the minimum quality requirements to be reproduced and displayed.
For exhibition, the organizers reserve the right to reproduce the works selected for the size you see fit, without changing the format in which the photograph was conceived.
Selected works
The photographs submitted by the bidders will be visible at the competition website www.fototalentos.com.
The public internet vote to contest all the photos and select a maximum of 24 pictures in each category.
Means chosen by the public internet to obtain those photographs highest average score, and if a tie will be decided by the organization. For these purposes means the average figure obtained by dividing the total score obtained by each photograph is the number of times that has been marked. The organizers reserve the right to require a minimum number of votes to bring a selected photograph.
Each block of 24 photographs at most selected in this first phase, will be part of an exhibition, whose organization and expenses paid by the organization.
Among the photographs of each exhibition will be selected 5 works of each of the five categories, namely 25 in total, which will shape the final exhibition contest. The selection of these 25 works will be carried out as follows: one proposed by the jury will select 20 works FOUNDATION (category 4) and 5 other works (Category 1) will be selected by the public via the website.
The selection of the winning the main prize and second prize of 2, will be made by the panel proposed by the Foundation.
Once the jury has selected the winner and the second prize will be reported to them through the phone number provided, as well as by email. At this point, the Foundation will inform the winners of the place, date and time that will be presented the award.
In the event that the winner or any of the second prize has not been located within 5 calendar days following the decision of the jury, said he will decide whether the prize desert or select a new work, the awards readjudicándose. At any time, the jury may declare any of the prizes.
The Foundation reserves the right to change the venues mentioned above.
Calendar
Contestants may send their works from 17:00 am on October 13, 2008. The deadline for acceptance of the works is December 5, 2008 at 11:00 am
The voting period of the works will begin at 17:00 am on October 13, 2008 and ending on December 12, 2008 at 11:00 am
The notification of the works selected for exhibition will be on December 19, 2008.
Participants whose works have been selected have to send the photos in high quality, according to the requirements set out in paragraph admission of works, days before 16 January 2009 at the following address:

The organization will communicate through the website of the competition www.fototalentos.com the date, location and duration of exposure of the selected works.
The period of voting by the public works of the 5 finalists will begin on March 2 at 17:00 pm and end on May 15 at 11:00 pm.
The notification of the winning and the second prize will be from 1 to 5 June 2009 and the award ceremony will be held from 5 to 9 June 2009 in the City Financial Boadilla del Monte (Madrid ).
Awards
The winner will get a prize of 5,000 euros gross (this figure is appropriate deductions practice), plus the professional printing of winning. 2 Accessit which will also get 2,000 euros gross prize each (this figure is appropriate deductions practice).
Intellectual property rights
The rights of use, dissemination, distribution, exhibition, publication, dissemination and reproduction of 25 works selected from each category, winning second prize and 2, the Foundation will be transferred to Banco Santander for a global and throughout his term legal term.
Privacy
Participants in this contest agree and consent to the personal data required for entry in the contest are included in a file owned by Banco Santander and the Foundation dealt with the aim of developing the competition, according to the LO 15/1999 on the Protection of Personal Data. Tacit acceptance of the bases
Mere participation in this competition implies acceptance of these conditions in full.
Banco Santander Foundation reserves the right to modify the conditions of this contest at any time, and even to cancel or leave without effect, provided that valid reasons for this. In any case, to communicate the same way by the modified bases, or cancellation of the contest as a whole, so that all participants have access to that information.
