Champion bought the plant for the production of photographic chemicals from Kodak




Champion Chemtech Ltd., Of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, signed an agreement to purchase the manufacturing plant of photographic chemicals from Kodak that is located in Rochester, NYEU The terms of the agreement, which is expected to close next month, not will be announced.

As part of the agreement, approximately 150 employees who are working in the plant will be transferred to a subsidiary company of Champion. Champion will take over the manufacturing facilities for Kodak in Rochester, which will continue to respond to customers of Kodak in the United States and Canada. Kodak's customers will continue to receive the same chemicals to process Kodak film, paper and plates, and will continue to be manufactured by the same technical staff and production, in the same facility. Kodak will continue to do the job of marketing and distribution of goods, as well as the procedures for carrying out orders.

"Not only are seeing the take control of the operations of high-quality manufacturing of Kodak, but we intend to incorporate these facilities in our extensive operations and expand the opportunities for existing and future customers of Champion specialty chemicals," said Fraser Mason, a partner at Champion. "Champion will benefit from the tremendous experience and great knowledge that employees have to be remitted."

Mason noted that the agreement was made based on a successful similar agreement that was made in February this year, which Champio acquired the manufacturing operations of photographic chemicals in Chalon, France, and that uses the facility to continue manufacturing products Kodak to customers in Europe.

Paul J. Walrath, vice president and chief operating officer of Kodak, commented that the success of the previous agreement with Champion provides a high level of confidence in ensuring that all customers of Kodak will continue to receive high-quality chemicals from Kodak.
