Young Artists Latin Certamen 2006 (Spain)

1.-Participants

The JMD of America invited to participate in the contest "Arte Joven 2006" all young Spaniards and foreigners resident in Spain, aged between 16 and 35 years (born between the years 1971 and 1990, inclusive).

2 .- Keynote Certamen

The theme of the contest will be free.

3 .- Methods purpose of the call

The modalities of the event are:

- Painting
- Sculpture
- Photography
- Fiction - Short Story
- Poetry

4 .- Presentation of works

The works, packaged together with the requested documentation, will be delivered between November 2 days and 1 December 2006, inclusive, Monday to Thursday (from 10:00 to 13:00 hours and 17:00 to 20: 00 hours) and Friday (from 10:00 to 13:00 hours) to the following address in Madrid:

The works may be hand delivered or sent postage paid to the same address (in this case the carrier or delivery to the post must be within the deadline and submitted to Arte Joven 2006 at the latest within 3 days).

Will be delivered or sent by return mail a receipt for the work submitted.

The works are presented without signature or pseudonym, accompanied by two sealed envelopes. In one of them appear on the outside only the year of birth, and it must be the bottom of the registration form which appears to that effect (so-called "copy to attach to the work").

On the other participants will bring the following documents:

Photocopy of ID-card or resident.
Attach-data and completed the registration form for the Municipal Board.
In the mode of Photography, a sketch showing the works on paper back in the correct position of the same, the order if it is a composition or if the work is composed of more than one item. Optionally, you can submit up to five copies of photographs on paper (maximum size of 18 x 24 cm.) Other than the author's works presented in the 2006 Young Artists, to provide more information to the jury a documentary about his Work (These pictures will further on the back the inscription "additional photographs, and their numbers x 1, x 2, etc ...).
It was also completed, the data for the label of the work, which is attached, supporting the work, the packaging and on the documentation submitted.

5 .- Selection

The ruling was made by an interdisciplinary jury in number at least five members. Councilmember President of the Municipal Board of America will act as President, in person or delegate who, as Secretary and the Technical Adviser of the Municipal Board.

The jury will comprise:

- Mrs. Nieves Saez of Adana. Councilor President JMD America.
- D. Enrique Gracia. Poet, writer and cultural populariser.
- D. José de las Casas. BB.AA sculptor and professor at the UCM.
- D. Manuel Parral. Professor of Painting BB.AA, Faculty of Madrid.
- Ms. Carmen Moreno. Professor of BB.AA Madrid. Professor and Head of the School of Education Felipe II in Aranjuez, a branch of the University Complutense.

Of the works presented will be selected up to ten per mode, which will be an exhibition organized by the Municipal Board of America February 2 to March 2, 2007 at the Exhibition Hall of the Municipal District Board. This exhibition will be officially opened to coincide with the day of the awards (February 2, 2007).

6 .- Awards

For each category there will be three awards:

FIRST PRIZE: 1500 Euros / DOS ACCESITS 600 Euros

The awards will be declared unsuccessful in any of the procedures at the discretion of the jury. In which case, the amounts of economic prizes not awarded, be used also at the discretion of the jury, to grant additional accésits. In any case unit awards or prizes may be divided between first several plays.

7 .- Ownership and use of works

All will be selected original property of the authors, the Municipal Board reserving the right to reproduce the works. After the exhibition, the original may be collected at the Cultural Center Churruca Admiral, where they were originally deposited. Unsolicited works before March 7 will be part of the Municipal Board.

The Board of Municipal Latin manage, even at the request and on behalf of the participants, the return of the works at home, by mail or through the transport agencies. The Municipal Board of America expressly disclaims any liability for loss of the works that attend these awards, resulting from theft, fire or other force majeure and for any damage suffered, both in the acts of receiving and return as long as they are in their custody.

The Municipal Board of America reserves the right to the use of works in publishing a catalog of the contest. This catalog may contain all the works, or the selection of finalists in each category works. The distribution of the catalog is made according to the Municipal Board established America, handing over the rights of reproduction and publication of works in the delivery of them.

8 .- Jury Ruling

The allocation of the 2006 Young Artists Awards, and the second prize will be made public to coincide with the opening ceremony of the Youth Art Exhibition 2006.

The inauguration of the exhibition will be held on February 2, 2007 at the auditorium of the Municipal Board of America (Avda General Fanjul, s / n), at 19:00.

All artists will receive accreditation as a member of Young Artists 2006. The ruling is final and will take place on the approach the artistic quality of the work and values of creative and innovation.

Participation in the Young Artists Awards 2006 Latin implies full acceptance of the bases.

9 .- Catalog

A catalog with the selected works of this contest. The organization may choose a work or a detail of it for playback on the cover of the catalog and other elements of the outreach program.

To this end, the artists give the right to reproduce the works.

The catalog will include all or part of the text on the work of authors selected as requested in the registration form referred to in paragraph presentation of works (paragraph 4 of these bases).

The Young Artists of 2006 may later artists selected for inclusion in the catalog, this information to help provide a more complete picture about his work and career.

10 .- Requirements of the Work

Young Artists to Participate in 2006 allowed all kinds of works under the conditions outlined in the "theme and purpose of the call patterns" (paragraphs 2 and 3 of these bases, respectively) and "base-specific pattern."

Participants will present a unique work that may not have been awarded in any other event or call for prizes. In this regard, the authors of the selected works will sign an affidavit declaring that the fulfillment of this condition.

To ensure its proper transport, handling and exposure, it is recommended that sending the work is done with a sufficiently rigid and protective packaging, reusable for its return. The works must be submitted not framed or rolled, or protected by glass or methacrylate. If the work presented is a series, consisting of a maximum of three pieces (except for photo mode to match the basis of their specific mode), each within the maximum dimensions fixed.

11 .- Insurance

The Municipal Board of America assumes no liability for loss, theft, fire or other force majeure that may occur on the works submitted to the contest, and the damage they may suffer in the acts of receiving and return in time under their custody. Not sign insurance covering such risks.

Nor will cover damage caused by deficiencies of packaging, or damage due to environmental conditions (dust, temperature, lighting, etc..) Or the nature of the materials used.

They may, if they wish to establish private insurance on their works, and must report to the Municipal Board and its existence conditions arising therefrom.

The Municipal Board disclaims any responsibility for such insurance.

12 .- Return of the works

Selected works may not be withdrawn, upon delivery of the relevant certificate, between 8 to 23 January 2007, inclusive (Monday to Friday from 10:00 to 13:00 hours and 17:00 to 20:00 hours ) at the following address:

The deadline for repayment, those works will not set aside the property of the Municipal Board which may have the same purpose for which it considers appropriate (exhibition, reproduction, transfer to non-profit ... or destroy them).

Participation in this competition requires full and complete acceptance without reservation of these bases and the rights and obligations arising from its implementation.

On points not covered by them, the Municipal Board of America may take decisions or make the changes it deems appropriate.

Specific PHOTOGRAPHY MODE

Participants submit a minimum of three and a maximum of five photographs. The works submitted must be the common theme of the jury assessed as a whole. The photographs must be submitted for presentation at rigid (no glass allowed) not exceeding 40 x 60 cm. Within the medium size photo paper is 18 x 24 cm.
