The discovery was made by filmmaker Trisha Ziff, who, according to the newspaper, found just 127 rolls in three boxes.

The newspaper reported that the boxes arrived in 1940 to Mexican general Francisco Javier Aguilar Gonzalez, who then served as a diplomat in France.
