bluemarine, a free option to catalog photos

For those we have a lot of photographs, whether amateur or professional level, it is important to have a program to make the selection and arrangement thereof.

The best options currently are LightRoom of Adobe and Aperture from Apple, which are beyond the reach of every pocket.

bluemarine is a free open source program that can be a substitute for the above options.

bluemarine

bluemarine can create catalogs of photographs both in JPG or TIFF and RAW (CR2, CRW, DNG, MRW, NEF, PEF, SRF). And I created the catalogs, you can see various ways such as folders, calendars, labels, etc..

Its role is to give a rating by stars and also make a selection which should be preserved and which must be discarded.

It has some functions like the other programs with which you can make some adjustments to your photos. But if you want a program to make a selection faster and is free, it's a good choice.

The program can be downloaded for Windows, Mac and Linux, as it works with Java technology. The version you can download RC2b currently is 0.9, so you can still have some problems.
